i want to ask do you guys wear skateboard shoes when you first learn how to do the ollie?

and did you guys wear helmets?

I wore skate shoes, but not helmets, skate shoes has the advantage of the close contact with the board, as well as the higher durability against the rubbing from the grip tape.
If you are that clumsy, you should wear a helmet and possibly full protectives. But its really rare for people to get seriously hurt from learning ollies and simple tricks.
